A Quote For Authors: From Ginny & Georgia

Hey writers! I’ve been re-watching Ginny and Georgia lately. And also wishing for season 3 to just get here. I adore this show and it’s like a darker more suspenseful version of Gilmore Girls. So if that sounds up your alley, I would give it a go.  As I was watching today, there was a line that stuck out to me and it just made my creative heart smile. I think it will do the same for you. It’s a beautiful reminder of why we make stuff. Why the creative journey is so magical and powerful. I hope this inspires you.  xoxo How do you come up with all this?    It’s fun. I get to come up with whatever I want and make a world out of it. Like, it’s just in your brain and it doesn’t exist, so you get to make it real. A Quote For Authors: From The Queen of Cliffhangers

Today's quotes come from Meghan March's A Creative Rebel's Guide to Writing Amazing Fiction. This is one of my must read books on writing craft and i've read it twice already. I highly recommend it, and you can find it linked under my Recommended Reads page at the top of the blog.  It truly covers everything from story idea to hitting publish. Run to read it if you haven't yet! I loved the audiobook as well. Meghan narrates it herself.  The quotes below reiterate my 2024 focus quotes about focusing on the process and not the outcome. To enjoy the journey. The quote about checks waiting to be cashed was a game changer for me and is now part of my daily mantra! It was very hard to focus on only two quotes because I have highlighted this whole book. It truly is writer gold, and I will share more of it will you all. Enjoy! Let me know  in the comments below if you've read this book, if it's on your TBR, or what is your must read writing craft book?

Writing Update

I can't believe January and February have almost come and gone! It's been a while since I gave a writing update. I'm currently working hard on my current WIP which will be my debut novel. Yes. I'm still working on that same book. My husband said it's been 16 years. Lol  (More like 2.) But it's all about the journey right?    It has been a journey and everyone's journey is different. Mine was littered with all the learning, growing, figuring out how to write, writing the wrong book first, and TONS of procrastination, self doubt, and fear. But I haven't wanted to quit. That's how I know i'm going to make my dream happen. I've never wanted something as much as this before, and any other creative art I tried to turn into a career, I quit. I haven't quit writing, because I love it. I must write. I feel unsettled when I don't write. What confirmed this for me was The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield so if you haven't read that yet, a...

A Quote for Authors: 2024 Focus Quote

As I’m planning my year for 2024, listing my goals and making my vision board, I have reflected and know that in 2023 one of the main culprits of my stagnancy has been worrying about the outcome. Looking so far ahead that I would stress out and shut down, and get overwhelmed. So this years goal is to ignore the outcome. It will do what it’s meant to do. I am focused on the process. Enjoying the journey of writing and creating because that is the most important part—the process. So I’ll leave you from a quote from my mentor as she inspired this post and always helps me to get clear and focused. Maybe this will help you too!  ✨💖

A Quote For Authors : The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

Today, I want to give you some Quotes from The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I have read this book/audiobook twice and I truly believe this book is key in helping anyone achieve their dreams. It is so powerful. It is essentially on the law of attraction and everything that goes along with that. The whole Secret Series is worth the read. Plus the documentary and movie version is on Amazon prime if you'd rather watch it.  I also have found that the free Super Secret App helps you to stay on track with what the book teaches. It has daily affirmations, and gives you a space to write your gratitude list everyday in there. I absolutely love it, and if you're like me and you hate journaling, this app might be for you.  I hope these inspire you on your writing journey!  Have you read The Secret? Let me know in the comments. 💖 "Your life is in your hands. No matter where you are now, no matter what has happened in your life, you can begin to consciously choose your thoughts, and you ca...

A Quote For Authors: From The Princess of Pop

I am always reading some type of non-fiction book or audiobook these days, and I come across so many brilliant words that apply to my writing. They give me lightbulb moments, and I have to write them down where I can see them every day as a reminder to keep going, or to keep putting those words into my daily practice or routine. I figured I’d start sharing my favorite quotes I come across that have an impact on me and my writing. I hope you enjoy these and they inspire you to keep on writing and chasing your dreams! 😊💖 “So getting awards and all that fame stuff? I liked it a lot. But there’s nothing lasting in it for me. What I love is sweat on the floor during rehearsals, or just playing ball and making a shot. I like the work. I like the practicing. That has more authenticity and value than anything else.” - Britney Spears - The Woman in Me Page 124
